CEO at BMGroup Explains Why No Experience is No Problem

Rather than focusing on occupational or educational experience event-marketing experts, BMGroup has adopted a no experience, no problem approach to talent acquisition. The Cardiff-based firm has released a statement explaining their non-traditional process.

Award-winning entrepreneur and Managing Director at BMGroup, Luke Walker, had a predominantly sports background, playing professional football before becoming a Personal Trainer and Gym Manager. His personal journey has impacted the event marketing experts' approach to talent acquisition.

The current workforce at BMGroup come from a wide variety of occupational and educational backgrounds. CEO Luke Walker argues that the firm’s diversity has been integral to its success.

“I am passionate about providing opportunities to ambitious professionals from all backgrounds and disciplines. At BMGroup, we welcome individuals with all levels of experience as we believe that we can coach and develop them into successful businessmen and women,” proclaimed Mr. Walker.

The BMGroup business model means that experience isn’t necessary. Everyone starts at the same level regardless of experience, and the firm provides continued support, guidance and skill development. The Cardiff-based business operates an open-door policy, with the management team always on hand to offer advice and guidance.

Since its inception in 2014, BMGroup has implemented a no experience, no problem approach to talent acquisition. The Cardiff-based firm believes that being open to individuals from a broad range of occupational and educational backgrounds provides them access to a wider talent pool, ultimately enabling them to assemble a strong and more progressive workforce.

The non-negotiable attributes that BMGroup require are:

Student mentality - If someone is open to learning, BMGroup are confident they can provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel.

Work ethic - The event marketing experts require their workforce to possess a solid work ethic. “I’ve often found that the people who are willing to give it 100% and put in the effort achieve the better outcomes than the ones with the natural ability and experience,” commented Mr. Walker.

Positive, ‘can do’ attitude - BMGroup believe that attitude dictates results. The event-marketing specialists argue that individuals with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude possess the ability to get results and find solutions in any circumstance.

“Our talent pool consists of individuals from sports, retail, hospitality, construction, administration and much more. We work with graduates, high school leavers and ambitious career changers, and every one of them brings ambition and enthusiasm that we can harness,” stated Mr. Walker.

In November 2021, Randstad's survey revealed that 24% of UK employees planned to move jobs within the next three to six months. BMGroup is appealing to individuals to consider a career in event marketing and promotions. If you want to embark on a new career, send your CV to
